Celebrate LIFE!

Please let us know if you are celebrating your pet's birthday or anniversary. We'd love to share their story.

"Sammy" H.  Lymphoma
2 yr survivor

"MacTuby" Prostatic TCC (transitional cell carcinoma)  "He [loved] his toys and [played] fetch every day" for 15 months beyond his diagnosis.

"Bubba"  celebrated his 15th birthday 4 yr survivor

"They started doing tests on him in July 2007, because he was throwing up and not eating. They treated him for pancreatitis. I was told he would ride it out . . . or not. When he was [correctly]diagnosed, there was little hope that he would survive. I decided to start him on chemotherapy and see if it helped. I just wanted to make him feel better. My heart was breaking. Bubba had been my best friend for 11 years. Within two days [of] starting chemotherapy Bubba started eating again! For more than a year I concocted all kinds of meals for him.....every kind of cat food on the market, baby food, kitten glop with eggs and gelatin, heated and pureed cottage cheese, goat cheese, freeze dried salmon and lamb, broiled fish of all kinds, barbecued flank steak, lamb roast, goat - literally anything and everything I could imagine that he might eat. There were many days when I sat on the floor with him and hand fed him, while at the same time trying to prepare myself emotionally for the worst case scenario. But he kept getting better! I was told by many people that Animal Cancer Specialists was his best option. Under Dr. Meleo’s care he is thriving. [Christmas 2010] was the first Christmas in 4 years that he has 'helped' open gifts and undecorate the tree."  He is the poster kitty for cancer survivors. His humans and his half sister are all eternally grateful for the expert and compassionate care he has received.  Thank you!  - Christa Q.

 "Mollie" MCT 11 mos. survivor
"This was her last hunt, November 15th 2010.  Thank you for all your efforts that helped her have a full and active year from diagnosis."
(We feel that to be hunting successfully
5 weeks before losing her is certainly reason to celebrate.)

Diagnosed with lymphoma at 10 years old, "Mac" fought bravely and lived to celebrate his 12th birthday.

"Boris" was diagnosed with lymphoma at 10 and almost lived to celebrate his 15th birthday, even moving to Portland & back-a survivor in the truest sense of the word.

"Bialy" osteosarcoma 21 mos. survivor
Bialy and his brother Bloom (HSA survivor) are the cover boys on our Dogster page.

"Piper" lymphoma
She survived 2/12 years and was considered a blessing by all who knew her.

"Whiskey" (pictured above) received chemotherapy back in 2001 after a diagnosis of splenic lymphoma. She also celebrated her 13th birthday in 2010.

A feeling of happiness and joy overtakes
"

Yellow Mutt Pet Photography10% of all product purchases will be donated to the Veterinary Cancer Society  in memory of all dogs and cats whose lives are cut short by cancer.

"Moby"

"In November ’09 [Moby] was diagnosed with cancer – histiocytic sarcoma in the left lung. He was treated with Lomustine (and Healing Touch, a form of energy healing) with good results for almost nine months, even winning Best Veteran in Sweeps at the Puyallup show [in] January 2010!!
[Unfortunately, in August] a routine Xray showed that the lung tumor had doubled in size. No signs or symptoms – he seemed fit and fine. We were advised that he should be put on another chemo drug, because evidently, the Lomustine wasn’t working. Unfortunately, Moby had a bad reaction to the new drug....however, by Labor Day, to our intense joy, he rallied!! And he enjoyed another one and a half months of relatively good quality life!
-  [with] a BIG THANK YOU to all of you and Dr. Meleo for all of his care."
- All the Best,
Irene & Sid, Hannah, Ella & Annie
